The college offers four engineering discipline, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering and Computer Science & Engineering which provides diversified options for professional qualification and growth in the field of Engineering & Technology. The well chosen faculty recruited from premier institutions, is well versed in pedagogy. CEC is further committed to train and equip its students with latest knowledge and skills in the backdrop of Indian ethos and values to enable them to face any global challenge and with a view to transform them into insightful, honorable and responsible citizens of this great country. In the current age of knowledge-based society, science & technology has assumed an irrefutably significant role and in that it has been making rapid strides in keeping pace with various current industrial innovations & technological advances. Admissions are open for all the branches , Mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication and Computer Science & Engineering. Each department has got 60 seats .

Capital Engineering College (CEC) has Sincerity, Nobility and service approach towards building institution with high academic excellence. The institution is committed towards creation of visualization, socially acceptable and ecologically sustainable technology. The motto of the Institution is to impart education leading to knowledge and evolve multiple skills among the students to become a better competent in the existing field of engineering.

Capital Engineering College is formed under the charitable society “Bidya Bharati Educational Trust”. It is headed by the Chairman Sri Badri Narayan Sahoo and Vice-Chairman Sri Biranchi Narayan Sahoo. Eminent persons in the field of Education, Industry and Administration are in the advisory board.

The college is situated in the education hub of Bhubaneswar and Khurda .The campus is located in the pollution free environment which is good for the learning. With its campus extending in around 40 acres, the college is very well suited for the quality education. The infrastructure and facilities of the college are the best in the city. With its starting year itself it has eminent faculties who are from well- known education field. The institute is very well connected to the city by trains and buses. It also has facilities of its own to the campus. It has up to date with the current curriculum of the BPUT (Biju Patanaik Technical University), also to impart education in the present scenario. It has an excellent library for the benefit of students, faculties and researchers. As one of the best established libraries according to standards, the college library has a large collection of books covering various branches of Engineering and Technology. The library is located in the second floor of the college, and is spread over around 3600 sq feet area. The library building is fully air-conditioned .Well protected with fire alarms and CCTV security systems.

Equipped with reading halls with reference collection from all over the engineering subjects. The computer centre is a fully air-conditioned and state-of-the-art computer centre with more than 100 terminals functions at the campus. There is 24 hr internet facility with 2mbps leased line connection available for the students. They are encouraged to make full use of the facilities to practise themselves in modern computer applications and software developments and for academic learning. Students can also acquire practical experience in hardware technology as quite a number of computers are assembled internally at the college workshop. The workshop facility of mechanical, electronics, electrical, physics and chemistry are well equipped with modern facilities.
